3rd Annual April First This Is The News Show!

SAPA TV will be airing the 3rd installment of  the This Is The News show on Friday, April 1st. This years installment has a very special surprise for its viewers. It will be airing through out the day on Friday on both Channel 8 and Channel 10. The prime time showings will be 6:00 pm on SAPA Channel 8 and 6:10 and 6:45 on SAPA Channel 10. New Shows on Channel 10 this Week.

We will be playing Puggy’s Corner shows over the next few weeks. Two shows will feature the candidates for Springfield School Board as well as the Springfield Select Board. These two shows will play back to back on Sunday, February 13 beginning at 2 PM

This week airing on Channel 10, there will be new Springfield School Board and Chester Andover Elementary School Board meetings. There is also a new Green Mountain Union High School Board meeting as well as a Springfield Development Review Board meeting playing this week.

Since several meetings were canceled last week due to the weather there will be rescheduled sessions of the RVTC Board and the Springfield Planning Commission that will be appearing on Channel 10 soon. Check our schedules for the new play times.

New Shows on Channel 8 This Week.

This week we have a new program on Channel 8 entitled “The African American Experience in Vermont: Reaching for Equal Citizenship”. Cyndy Bittinger presented this program at an Osher Life Long Learning program last Spring. This program explores the African American experience in Vermont. February is Black History month and this program is one of our feature programs this month.

Another new show this week features a visit by Bishop Peter Weaver to the Springfield United Methodist Church. This special event was recorded and we are pleased to share it with our viewers.

We have a new sports show featuring Springfield 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls playing basketball against Ludlow children. It will play Saturday, February 12 at 1:30 PM. It will also play again next week.

New Programs on Channels 8 & 10

This week we have a new program on Channel 8 entitled “Heavy Lifting: New York and Vermont’s Slate Industry History”. Mary Lou Willits presented this program at an Osher Life Long Learning program last fall. Ms Willits explores the history of the slate industry and leaves the viewer with a new sense of the importance of this industry to our state.

This week on Channel 10, there will be new a new Springfield School Board meeting on Monday, February 7. There will also be a new Weathersfield Select Board meeting.

This week we will have a new program featuring the Vermont Speaker of the House discussing issues being addressed by the new legislature.

Closings for Wednesday, February 2, 2011

All Springfield Public Schools will be Closed Wednesday. Green Mountain Union High School, The Chester Andover Elementary School, the Cavendish Town Elementary School and the Flood Brook School will be Closed Wednesday. The Weathersfield School will be Closed Wednesday. The Springfield Family Center will be Closed Wednesday. River Valley Tech Center will be Closed Wednesday. Martin Memorial Hall, the Weathersfield Proctor Library and the Weathersfield Transfer Station will all be Closed Wednesday.
